Intellectual Rights

Entrants are required to either own the copyright or obtain permission from the copyright owners to [1] submit the project as a whole for jury’s consideration and announcements via BCI channels (for instance, the FuturArc website and FuturArc Journal) [2] use of any/all submission materials in publication, in digital and print format, at the discretion of BCI.

Entrants must also seek the building owner’s/developer’s permission for entry into competition and subsequent media coverage. In developments where there is no legal demarcation of ownership, the Entrant shall offer an undertaking on behalf of user or residents of the development.

By registering online, Entrants are making a declaration that they have met all copyright obligations and that they indemnify the BCI against any claims resulting from a failure to do so.

Exhibition/Publication Rights

All materials received by the Competition Organiser become its property, including reproduction rights.

The Organiser reserves the right to publish and display any or all information/images submitted.

It is the responsibility of the Entrant to ensure that the use of images and other materials submitted for competition have been cleared for subsequent publication and display with their respective copyright holders.


All submissions must be written, presented and tendered in English.

All liaisons between Entrants and the Organiser must be conducted in English.


The Organiser reserves the right to not proceed with the FuturArc Green Leadership Award 2018 for any reason.


Through the act of submission, all Entrants declare the following:

a.     I/we accept all Competition conditions without reservations, qualifications or exclusions.

b.     I/we waive any and all claims against the Competition Organiser and its Partners which may result from the participation in the FuturArc Green Leadership Award 2018, Competition.

c.     I/we agree that the Competition Organiser shall have the unlimited right to publish and exhibit and otherwise use all submissions and materials tendered through any means of communication, including, but not limited to publication, presentation, display, and electronic posting for an indefinite period of time.

d.     I have sought Owner/Developer written consent prior to making the submission

e.     I have sought copyright licensing to cover all submission materials

At the point of submission, all Entrants acknowledge the following:

a.     All submitted materials will become the property of the Competition Organiser. The use of all submitted materials is at the Competition Organiser’s discretion and without compensation to the Entrant.

b.     All submissions received will be considered public information. The Competition Organiser is not responsible for protection of intellectual property rights.

c.     The Competition Registrar reserves the right to refuse any entry into the Competition and to disqualify a submission on grounds of non-compliance.

d.     The Competition Registrar is not liable for lost, misdirected, late or substantially incomplete entries.

e.     No official endorsement of Entrant views should be inferred by participation in the Competition.
